Sister Oslethia McCaskill Roberson was born February 25, 1948 and made her transition on July 13, 2016. She was born in DeFuniak Springs, FL to the late Jiley McCaskill, Sr. and Eddie Lousie McCaskill.
She dedicated her life to the Lord at a very early age, and was a truly dedicated Christian. Sister Oslethia McCaskill Roberson was a pillar of the community always willing to help others before herself, and always telling everyone she met, “God Bless You, and I Love You” with a smile. She was always a kind hearted woman, whom we all will miss dearly.
Oslethia was the first African American to work at the Walton County Courthouse. She graduated from Tivoli High School in the Class of 1968. Shortly after she attended Chipola Junior College in Marianna, FL, where she received an Associates in Distributive Education in the Class of 1973. Oslethia also ran for County Circuit Clerk in Columbia County, Arkansas, and spoke to African Americans in Indianapolis, Indiana as motivation.
She was also a faithful member of St. John Baptist Church, Euchee Valley, FL, under the leadership of Pastor Ernest and Pam Powell.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Jiley McCaskill, Sr. and Eddie Lousie McCaskill, and one brother Elmer Ray McCaskill.
She leaves behind two sisters: Thelma Randolph (Richard)-DeFuniak Springs, Florida, Barbara Jean Livingston-Atlanta, Georgia; one brother: Jiley McCaskill, Jr. —Magnolia, Arkansas; two children: Leonard Ali Roberson (wife Paulina Roberson)-Kuna, Idaho, Selethia RobersonValdosta, Georgia; former spouse: Theodore Leonard Roberson—Valdosta, Georgia; eight grandchildren: LaDontaé-Dallas, Texas, Lekelan-Dallas, Texas, Armanie-Valdosta, Georgia, Aliyana-Dallas, Texas, Kazari-Valdosta, Georgia, Kyrorey-Valdosta, Georgia, Marcus-Kuna, Idaho and NadyaKuna, Idaho, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
