Sylvester Baker, Jr., was born in DeFuniak Springs, Fl on May 12, 1943 to the union of the late Sylvester and Elizabeth Baker, Sr.
Sylvester accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Union Springs Missionary Baptist Chuch. He retired in 2005 from Lousianna Pacific Railroad after 40 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, church and freinds. He loved to dance.
Sylvester was preceded in death by the love of his life his wife, Rosa N. Cotton Baker; son: Sylvester III; parents; sister: Ruby J. Mackle Lee; grandparents: John and Julia Austin, Sr.; aunts and uncles: Tozil and Robert Bellamy and John and Lizzle Austin, Jr.; mother-in-law: Rosa Lee Cotton; sisters and brothers-in-law: Josephine Guice, Henry adn Mary Lou Cotton, Robert Cotton, Lamar Cotton, Willie J. Pace, Willie and Jennie Guice and Fred Cotton; a special friend, Linda Henry.
He left these earthly toils to his Heavenly reward on April 17, 2015. His sweet spirit, kindness and love will bemissed by all who knew him.

Baker of DeFuniak Springs, Farrah and Rozelle Jackson of DeFuniak Springs; twenty-five grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; sisters: Willie and Raymon Roulhac, Sr., and Elizabeth and Alfonzo Gee all of DeFuniak Springs and Mary and Billy Lasley of Fort Walton Beach; brothers: John and Rosetta Baker and Carl and Kathryn Baker all of Fort Walton Beach and William Baker of DeFuniak Springs; sisters and brothers-in-law: Dorothy Reeves of Fort Walton Beach, Argertha and Ransom Works of Caryville, FL, Shirley Cotton of DeFuniak Springs, Jenell Cotton of Chipley, FL; a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and freinds.
