Trudie Marie Campbell, “ReeRee” as she was affectionately called, was born on November 22, 1918 to Myrtle Jackson and Tru Campbell who preceded her in death. She was an only child.
She was a faithful member of New Bethel A.M.E. Church in Argyle, where she served in numerous positions.
Marie met the love of her life, Mace E. Campbell at her grandfather’s store. Later at a ‘Foot Party’, Mace chose her to be his girl. They were married on July 12, 1939 and to this union, the ‘Notorious Nine’ were born.
Her memory and legacy will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted husband of 76 years, Mace E. Campbell; her loving daughters, Carolyn Collins, Anna Cogdell, Connie Wilkerson, Marsha McLendon, and Karan Everett; her loving sons, Bryant Durell Campbell, Clarence ‘Pete’ Campbell, Alfred Campbell, and Mace ‘Skip’ Campbell; loving daughter-in-law, Thelma H. Campbell; loving son-in-laws, Dr. Leonard Everett and Jerrund Wilkerson; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, one great-great grand, and their families; sister-in-laws, Lillian Campbell, Elsie Peppers, and Gwendolyn White; special friends, Juliaette Barge, Elinor Campbell, Tyrone Broadus, Lois Foster, and Ollye Collins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Those we love don't go away,
