Dr. Wilkerson was my friend and doctor; we met in Chicago when he was attending Dr. Scholl's School of Podiatry. He and the head of the department performed surgery in the 1980's. He was such a beautiful person with such a vibrant spirit. I was reaching out to Sherrell to say hello after all these years to find that the Lord took him home.

I knew Dr. Wilkerson only as a patient but was so grateful for the understanding and kindness he showed. The world will be darker place without him.

Dr. Wilkerson was such a wonderful and personable Doctor. We were blessed to have known him and experience his quality medical care. What a beautiful soul Dr. Wilkerson was. We extend prayers to the family for their loss. We know his patients will sorely miss him.

I would like to send my condolences to the Wilkerson family.. Mr. Wilkerson was a great man, i have known him since i was just a little girl.. I have very fond memories of him! My heart goes out to you all. I feel really blessed and honored to have known him and say he was my friend!

I live in Tn, but we visit Destin very often and I always enjoy attending the Destin Church of Christ while in town. Dr. Wilkerson taught the few Sunday school classes I attended and it was obvious he was very active in leading prayers, song service, classes, etc. I always enjoyed the stories he would humbly tell about himself. He had a sense of humor, and made everyone feel special. He seemed to recognize me as a frequent visitor and always made me feel so welcome and at home. The love for his wife, family and God were obvious. It was also obvious he was equally loved and respected by all he knew. I was so saddened while visiting on May 14th to learn of his passing from this earth, but I know the angels are rejoicing in heaven! I will miss his infectious smile and laugh. Having lost my own father at the young age of 60 to cancer; my prayers and thoughts are with you all during this difficult time, but it helps to know he is smiling down on us all ~.

Very sorry to hear this. I remember Sherrell, and he was such a shining star, giving his best at everything he did. Yet he never met a stranger, and was a gracious person. My prayers to Mrs. Wilkerson and the family.

Dr. Wilkerson was one of the finest men I have known. I have known the family for many years, and they have meant so much to me. He was not only my Dr., but a dear friend. We always had such a good time reminiscing and remembering days when he was growing up with my children, school, football games and family stories.
He will be greatlymissed!
