In the sunlit town of Flowersville, Florida, on the second day of February in the year of our Lord
nineteen hundred and sixty, the world was graced with the birth of Charlotte Ann Johnson. She
embarked upon her final journey from Crestview, Florida, on the sixth of July, in the year two thousand
and twenty-four, leaving behind a legacy woven with love, wisdom, and the joy of a life well-lived.
Charlotte, known affectionately to all as simply Charlotte, was a beacon of light in the lives of
those she touched. She danced through life's stages with the grace of a being who understood the delicate
balance of joy and sorrow. As the Bard himself, William Shakespeare, didst pen, "All the world's a stage,
and all the men and women merely players." Charlotte played her roles with fervor and a heart
brimming with compassion, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the fortune of
sharing in her story.
Charlotte's tapestry of life was rich with the love of her devoted husband, Otis Livingston, and
the vibrant threads of her children: Charles William Johnson, Keyshawn Johnson, and Telisa
Johnson. Her spirit will forever dance in the laughter of her twenty-one grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren, a testament to the love she bestowed upon her family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Otis Johnson, Jr.
Her roots ran deep in the Floridian soil, where she first drew breath under the watchful eyes of her
parents, the late Charlie Williams and Lee Julia Rodgers. Her journey was shaped alongside her
siblings, Janice, Ray Charles, and Terry Rodgers, who preceded her in passage, and those who
continue the legacy: Alice Poole (Calvin), Cynthia Haughton (Ernest), Linda Tarver, and
Stevie Rodgers (Gail), along with her sister-in-law, Christian Rodgers.
Her formative years were spent within the halls of Paxton High School, from whence she
journeyed to Crestview High School, emerging with a diploma that would serve as the compass for her
future endeavors. Charlotte's professional path began in the Hospitality Industry, where she honed her
craft with the same dedication and warmth she afforded every aspect of her life.
Like a flower turning towards the sun, Charlotte sought further enlightenment at Northwest
Florida State College, where she studied Billing and Coding. Her thirst for knowledge was matched only
by her desire to serve others, a trait that illuminated her every undertaking.
In her life's journey, Charlotte encountered many souls, from cherished family members to friends
who found in her a confidante and a source of unwavering support. She navigated the waters of existence
with the wisdom of a sage and the tenderness of a poet, often invoking the words of the great Emily
Dickinson: "That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet."
As we bid farewell to Charlotte Ann Johnson, we do not mourn the setting of a star, but rather
celebrate the brilliance with which she shone. Her legacy is not merely in the bloodlines she leaves
behind, but in the countless moments of joy, the gentle guidance, and the unconditional love that will
continue to ripple through the ages.
Charlotte's story may have reached its final chapter in this realm, but the narrative of her spirit
will be recounted for generations, as those who loved her continue to walk in the light of her memory. In
the echoes of laughter, the warmth of a shared embrace, and the silent strength of a tear shed in
remembrance, Charlotte lives on.
And so, we close the book on a tale that, though finite in pages, is infinite in its reach. Charlotte
Ann Johnson, a name that shall be uttered with reverence and a smile, a soul that hath taught us the true
measure of a life is not in the breaths we take, but in the moments that take our breath away.
