David D. Johnson, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., passed away Thursday, July 29, 1999 in DeFuniak Springs.
He was born in Milton, Fla., and lived in DeFuniak Springs for 43 years. He was a retired warrant officer and a funeral director.
David was one of six children of the late Joe Johnson and J. Lucille Johnson of Milton.
He was the beloved husband of Doris Laird Johnson; a loving father to three children: sons, Marcus and David, and daughter, Lori (Russell) Hughes; and a treasured one-of-a-kind grandfather to three granddaughters, Candace Denise, Micah Paige and Kawaii Collette.
Brothers, Joe (Nellie) Johnson, Russell (Betsy) Johnson and Jerry Johnson; sisters, Mary Johnson, Vivian (Forest) Rhodes, Joanna (Charles) Larkins; sister-in-law, Gussie (Edward) Maynor; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Macedonia Baptist Church, 63 Ponderosa Trail in Argyle, Fla. Interment will be in Euchee Valley Cemetery, Ponce de Leon, Fla.
Visitation will be at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Milton (his home of birth) on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
A viewing for friends in DeFuniak Springs will take place from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Park Funeral Home.
The body will be placed in the Macedonia Baptist Church at 3 p.m. for final viewing.
