Mother Floney C. Jackson, affectionately known as Ms. Floney, departed this earthly realm on July 11, 2025, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, at the age of 87. Born on October 22, 1937, she was a beacon of light and love to all who were blessed to know her. Ms. Floney's journey through life was marked by her unshakeable faith, her boundless love for her family, and her unwavering commitment to serving others.
Mother Jackson was a cherished daughter to her late parents, Lula Walker and Harry Andrews. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Jarvis Jackson, her sisters, Julia Woods, Lucille Johnson, Geraldine Wyche, and Betty Jewell Walker, her brother, Jimmy, and warmly remembered by Julia's husband, Gene Woods. Her legacy is carried on by her devoted children: Pierre Campbell (Pearl), Sharee Campbell, Warren Mizzell Campbell, and Rosetta Johnson; her loving sister, Clara Mincy (David Mincy); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who were like stars in the constellation of her life.
Mother Jackson’s life was a tapestry of service and devotion. As a faithful member of the Everlasting Word Full Gospel Baptist Church, she embodied the virtues of Christian love and charity. Her spirit remained connected to her church family in every way possible, shining as an example of how one's faith can remain steadfast in the face of life's challenges.
Professionally, Mother Jackson served as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Walton County Convalescent Center. Her career was more than a job; it was a calling. She cared for the sick and the elderly with a tenderness that was both rare and beautiful, leaving a lasting impact on the community and setting a standard for compassionate care.
