Mr. Hardy Jackson departed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.
Hardy was born April 21, 1954 in Winnsboro, South Carolina to Mary Broxton and Robert Jackson, Sr, and was the second born of nine children.
He was a graduate from Walton Senior High School in 1974. He joined the United States Army in July 1974, where he served for seventeen years. He also worked as a Correctional Officer for ten years, After returning home, he attended Greater Saint Joseph African Methodist Episcopal Church where he was a faithful member of the choir and kitchen staff.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Mary Broxton and Robert Jackson, Sr., and a brother, Robert Jackson, Jr.
Left to mourn his passing are his siblings: Levon Jackson and Willie Earl (Brenda) Gundrum all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; Voncille Gundrum of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Ella Carswell, Annette Cherry (Freddy), Dorothy Caldwell (Charles) and Shirley Bell (Cordell) all of DeFuniak Springs, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and very dear friends.
Although we are saddened by his passing, we rejoice in knowing that he's in a land "where he'll never grow old." Farewell, Hardy, you were tired and needed your rest. You were called forth by God, and your soul was truly blessed. We will not weep and mourn because we don't see you on this side anymore. We know that you'll be waiting to meet us on the other shore.
