Our dear beloved Brother Hayward Clemons, Sr., was born on January 17, 1948 to Viola Clemons Fletcher in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
He spent his childhood in Red Bay and later graduated from Tivoli High School. He met his soulmate Carolyn who joined in Holy Matrimony in the state of Alabama. He worked alongside his wife for nineteen years at Eglin Air Force Base. Once they retired they continued to serve their community as Board of Directors for Caring and Sharing of Walton County. He was a faithful and dedicated member alongside his wife at Everlasting Word Full Gospel Baptist Church, Inc., DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
He was loving, husband, son, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who were adored by many.
Brother Clemons enjoyed fishing, watching football, and had a love for taking pictures and videoing family and friends. He loved his coffee, ice cream sandwiches, and listening to his radio. But most of all he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn and daughter, Sabena Clemons; grandparents and mother; sisters: Gloria Clemons and Luetrishe Goode; brothers: William Bernard Clemons and Roosevelt Anderson; granddaughter, Angelica Brown; nephew: Emory Goode III and other family.
Brother Clemons was called home on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at North Okaloosa Hospital in Crestview, Florida after a long battle with diminished health.
He is survived by his children: Hayward Clemons, Jr. (Elaine) of Jacksonville, Florida and Thomas Dewayne Broxton, Sr. (Denise) of Greenwood, Florida; grandchildren: Barrett Brown II, Jasmine Brown, Jaleel Brown, Ladell Clemons, Deangelo Clemons, Hayden Clemons, Hayleigh Clemons, Thomas Broxton, Jr. (Carla), Ivory Broxton, Shambrail Broxton, Elexa Rhynes and Mahalia Broxton, Cherokee Broxton, Shateya Jones and Javaris Gibson; aunt: Joyce Randolph; special nieces: Alicia Davis and Whitney Moore; special nephews: Adrian Goode and Nathan Goode; special daughter: Julie Payne; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers, church family and friends.
