Julius "JW" Robbins Obituary

Julius Willie Robbins of Laurel Hill, Florida was born August 11, 1935, in Laurel Hill Florida, transitioned to be with the Lord late Saturday afternoon February 4, 2023, a quiet whisper from above called Julius home. JW, as he is known, understood and accepted this whisper that offered him peace and comfort for his weary body. He ever so gently transitioned to be with the Lord.

Julius accepted Christ at an early age, joining Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where he was an active member of the Sunday school department, later serving as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and Sunday School Teacher.

He attended school in the Okaloosa County School District, after graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in California served four years of duty which included a tour over-sea to Greenland. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Laurel Hill, FL. where he met and fell in love with the love of his life, Delores Marie Moore. They were married and was later blessed with a beautiful baby boy, Stephen Zell Robbins.

Deacon Robbins worked in the wood producing industry for a number of years with his brother, later to establish his own pulp wood service.  As he began to age, he decided to move on to a more suitable line of work where he became the lead janitor at Laurel Hill School, working there for 20 years, he was loved and honored by the entire Faulty, staff and students. After retirement he became a faithful, dedicated caregiver for his wife as she struggled with debilitating health.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Robbins; son, Stephen Zell Robbins; parents: Vizell and Mary Robbins; mother and father-in-law, Lonnie and Nova Moore; sister: Irene Peacock; brother: Deacon Vizell Robbins; brothers-in-law: Leonard Peacock, Benjamin Eady, Calvin Walls, Lonnie Moore and Leroy Moore; sisters-in-law: Jewel Robbins, Deloris Robbins, Christine Moore and Icelean Moore.

He leaves to mourn his goddaughter: Chantal Robbins; brother: James Robbins, Fort Walton Beach, Florida; sister: Lois Eady, Laurel Hill, Florida; brothers and sisters-in-law:  Judy Wright (Sam), Linda Walls, both of Niceville, Florida, Larry Moore (Patricia), Rocky Moore (Edna) all of Pensacola Florida, Darrell Moore (Brenda) all of Atlanta, Georgia, Mary Matthews (John) Bobby Moore, Laurel Hill, Florida, Richard Moore (Dorothy) Crestview, Florida and Ferrin Moore (Carole) Manassas, Virginia; and a host of close nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
