Katharine Marks Harper (the fourth child of nine children) was born to the late John and Frankie Marks on November 15, 1931 in Rison, Arkansas.
Katharine attended school in Rison (Cleveland County) Arkansas. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the love of her life, Mack Harper in 1959 while living in Ft. Pierce, Florida. From this union the two were blessed with one child, Willie Frank Harper, Sr.
Then Church Katharine chose to be affiliated with and became a member, when moving to DeFuniak Springs, was Park Street Church of God In Christ; where she received salvation by the repentance of her sins. She untiringly devoted her services lovingly and willingly to the Church Family and the Community. Katharine served as Superintendent and Treasurer of the Sunday School, did the work of a Deaconess Missionary and much more. When the church doors were opened, she was there with a heart of passion, and a beautiful smile ready to sing, play the keyboard, and guitar that was characteristic, as she gave and served in a place that was “Her Life.”
Katharine departed this life to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 09, 2021 according to the Will of God.
Katharine was preceded in death by her husband: Mack; first-born son: Samuel Moore; sisters: Corene Marks, Glory Marks Givens; brothers: Booker T. Marks, Leo Marks, George Marks, Timothy Marks, and Harvey Lee Marks.
Precious memories remain with those who loved her and the many lives she touched. Survivors include; son: Willie Harper, Sr.; brother: Willie C. Marks; special kids: Kathy Harper, Ricky Harper, Sr., Ricky Harper, Jr. and Forest, Jr.; grandchildren: Steven Harper, Marrita Graham (Favorite), Willie Harper, Jr, and Christopher Harper; great-grandchildren: Steven Jr., Ashley, Anntwan, Shayla, Jamaye, Allyssa, McKenlie, Kelly Graham Jr., and Kameron Graham; Great-Great Grandchildren: Phoenyx, Khrymson and Lijion. She is truly loved and will be missed immensely by family and friends!
