Mr. Roevell “Big Red” Anderson was born on Wednesday, March 24, 1932 in Ponce de Leon, Florida to Dan and Eunice Campbell Anderson.

“Big Red” served his country in the United States Army. After the military, he became a entrepreneur in the pulpwood industry. He was employed in the civil service and maintenance jobs. Although he never married, he was the proud father of one daughter and three sons: Brenda Jackson, Leon (Carla) Anderson, Gerald (Jessie P.) Anderson, Sr., and Myrick (Leah) Anderson. They all proved to be a blessing to him.

He was brought up in the fear and admonition of the Lord and his later life recommitted himself to the Lord. He was known to be a great athlete, playing football and baseball. He was an active outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and gardening.

On Tuesday, June 9, 2020, the Lord called him from labor to rest; it’s time to go home. Sleep on “Big Red”. He joined his parents and the following siblings: Dan Anderson, Aubrey Anderson, William Anderson, Benjamin Anderson, Sr., Talcumia Bell, Eliza Anderson and Louise Anderson in Heaven.

In addition to his children he is survived by eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a brother: James Anderson; sisters: Jirlean Laird and Latrisha Goode; a special son-in-law, Jerry W. Jackson; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

O blessed hope! Thank you Jesus!
You won victory on the cross,
Over sin, death, and all diseases,
So we don't have to suffer loss.

It's not forever we'll have to wait,
We'll see again our loving friend.
We'll meet again at heaven's gate,
In joy and bliss that has no end.

We pray our friend is gathered sure,
In God's family as His child.
We are the ones left insecure,
In this world where we are exiled.

It's not forever we'll have to wait,
We'll see again our loving friend.
We'll meet again at heaven's gate,
In joy and bliss that has no end.

We thank you God, by grace you bring,
Each one home when you know best.
We pray we all will one day sing,
Your praises in eternal rest.

It's not forever we'll have to wait,
We'll see again our loving friend.
We'll meet again at heaven's gate,
In joy and bliss that has no end.
